2021 Sport NSW Industry Conference Wrap Up
Published Mon 22 Feb 2021
In a welcome return to face to face events, the 2021 Sport NSW Industry Conference was held on Friday 19 February at ACPE in front of a sell-out audience of over 150 people.
The event was warmly received, with attendees enjoying a full day of education and networking opportunities shared with delegates across a broad range of State Sporting Organisations, State Sporting Organisations with a Disability, local councils, active recreation providers and others from the wider sporting community.
With the aim to provide information that was ‘Practical, Relevant and Interesting’, the event opened with updates from Sport Australia (Kate Corkery) and the NSW Office of Sport (Kerry Turner and Jacqueline Nguyen). This was followed by breakout sessions on concussion, digital marketing and social media, bullying and harassment in the workplace, inclusion, grant writing and Sport Australia’s Game Plan. After lunch, attendees heard a thorough presentation on the National Redress Scheme, delivered by Kathryn Periac from the Deptartment of Social Services.
Our sincere thanks to event partner, the Australian College of Physical Education for providing support and access to their wonderful facility and to the National Sports Convention who provided a door prize of one full registration to attend the 2021 convention in Melbourne. Congratulations to Sonja Balic from Blind Sports NSW who was the lucky winner of this prize!
