Sport NSW is pleased to open the nominations for the 2023 Sports Foyer NSW Community Sports Awards
The Sports Foyer NSW Community Sports Awards, presented by Sport NSW, recognise outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport in NSW – largely carried out by a volunteer workforce.
More than 500,000 people across NSW voluntarily dedicate their time every year through their involvement in sporting clubs and organisations.
The Sports Foyer NSW Community Sports Awards provide State Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Organisations with a Disability an opportunity to recognise the efforts and achievements of their dedicated volunteers, because put simply, sport would not exist without them.
This year, nominations are invited for twelve categories (including two new awards), plus the Distinguished Long Service Awards for those that have given exceptional service to their sport for over 25 years. The 2023 Awards categories are;
- Community Official of the Year
- Young Official of the Year
- Community Coach of the Year
- Young Coach of the Year
- Community Sport Administrator of the Year
- Volunteer Director of the Year
- Community Team of the Year
- Community Club of the Year
- Local Council of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Inclusive Achievement of the Year
- Innovation of the Year
- Distinguished Long Service Awards
Sport NSW are please to announce two new awards this year:
The Inclusive Achievement of the Year - Awarded to an individual, club or organisation that has made a significant contribution to inclusive sport. They have demonstrated how they have been inclusive to groups such as different genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQ+, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) and/or people with a disability to increase participation and engagement in sport.
AND
The Innovation of the Year - Awarded to a club or association in recognition of introducing an innovative program/initiative that has improved the experience of their participants or contributed to the community.

All nominations must be completed online - www.sportnsw.com.au/2023sportsfoyernswcommunitysportsawards and nominations will close at 11.59pm on Sunday, 14 May 2022.
The 2023 Sports Foyer NSW Community Sports Awards will be formally presented on Thursday, 29 June 2023 at CommBank Stadium.
