2025 NSW SPORTS INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
Hundreds of representatives from across the sports industry gathered at the NSW Sports Industry Conference on Friday 28 February 2025.
Organised by Sport NSW and supported by ACPE and RevolutioniseSPORT, the conference allowed delegates to discuss issues, share knowledge and explore opportunities to ensure community sport in NSW continues to thrive.
Covering topics such as organisation and event funding, inclusion and the application of AI in sport, the event inspired delegates and equipped them with the knowledge and latest tools to drive progress in their sport and deliver for the community.
Key highlights included:
- The Hon. Stephen Kamper, Minister for Sport, opened the conference and highlighted the integral role that sport plays in improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and building communities.
- Chris Hall, Chair of Sport NSW highlighted the organisations priority focus areas that included continued support for members and capitalising on the impact of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Alisa Camplin, Australia’s first female Winter Olympic Gold Medallist, inspired the audience with reflections on her experience in sport and the boardroom and shared powerful tips on navigating tough environments, seizing opportunities and achieving success.
- Geoff Brailey, Social Researcher from McCrindle shared key demographic trends which equip our members with the knowledge they need to drive increased participation across the community.
Other sessions included a snapshot of how sport is effectively using social media, and Destination NSW shared tips on securing event funding. Case studies were shared on practical hacks for inclusion and improved pathways to participation. The Australian Sports Commission held a workshop on the Play Well Strategy and other areas including discussion on making sport affordable.
Delegates also took advantage of networking opportunities and innovative exhibitors showcased cutting-edge products and services.
