The Board of Sport NSW has elected widely experienced corporate and Government advisor and strategist Chris Hall as its new Chairperson.

Mr Hall, who has been Deputy Chairperson of Sport NSW since 2019 and a Board member since 2017, succeeds Carolyn Campbell who has completed a distinguished seven-year term as a Director and four as Chairperson.

Mr Hall has a wealth of experience across the sports sector having served as Chief of Staff to the NSW Minister for Sport for almost six years in addition to other senior ministerial Chief of Staff roles.

Mr Hall is currently Chief Executive of Primary Comms Group, a specialist communications agency.

Mr Hall paid tribute to Ms Campbell for her exceptional leadership and immense contribution to sport in NSW.

“Carolyn has been a dynamic and inspirational leader across several areas of sport for many years,” said Mr Hall.

“As Sport NSW Chairperson, she has safely steered the organisation through sports most challenging periods in recent memory - the Covid-19 pandemic and devastating bushfires and floods,” he added.

“Carolyn’s selfless contribution was recognised at Sport NSW’s Annual General Meeting where she was awarded Life Membership.”

The AGM also saw Erin Lorenzini, Head of Cricket Operations, Government Relations and Infrastructure at Cricket NSW, and Maria Nordstrom, Chief Executive Officer at Basketball NSW, elected to the Board.

Together with Finance Director, David Sexton, who was also returned to the Board, the trio will commence two-year terms.

Mr Hall said he looks forward to advocating and supporting the more than 80 State Sporting Organisations, Disability State Sporting Organisations, Local Councils, sports industry bodies, community clubs and sports businesses that Sport NSW represents.

“As the peak sports industry body in NSW, Sport NSW provides a collective voice for sport to deliver quality experiences for participants and volunteers,” said Mr Hall.

“Sport binds communities together, promotes physical and mental wellness and provides countless avenues for girls and boys, men and women to excel, and the Board is eager to work in partnership and in collaboration with all member organisations,” he added.
