NSW Gymnastics Championships Wrap Up

Over 600 of NSW’s finest athletes gathered over two weekends at Gymnastics NSW’s Senior State Championships.
Held at Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre, the Gymnastics NSW Senior State Championships sees the top gymnasts from across New South Wales compete across five Gymsports, over two action-packed weekends of gymnastics.
In a display of the high quality of athletes and competition we have within NSW, the Championships attracted competitors from both interstate and abroad, including Rio Olympians Blake Gaudry and Danielle Prince.
Sydney Gymnastics Centre celebrated wins in Acrobatic, Men’s, Trampoline and Women’s Gymnastics, with Castle Hill RSL returning home as reining Trampoline Club Champions for the ninth year in a row. Many Warringah Gymnastics Club proved victorious in the Men’s divisions, taking home a total of 5 first place finishes. Similar results were seen from Le Ray Gymnastics, the club receiving 6 gold medals in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Gymnastics NSW Chief Executive Officer Aaron Bloomfield acknowledges the dedicated coaches, judges and athletes within NSW.

“With the remarkable results displayed over the weekend, our athletes are well positioned for the coming National Championships in May and World Championships later in the year”
Team NSW will head to Melbourne for the Australian Gymnastics Championships, held at the Hisense Arena from the 23 May - 4 June 2016.
