Sport NSW appoints new Chairperson
Published Thu 07 Feb 2019
Dear Members
Earlier today I stood down from my position as Chairperson of Sport NSW and resigned my position on the Board following my recent appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Multicultural NSW.
It has been an absolute privilege to play a role in the evolution of Sport NSW over the past six years and I will sorely miss my involvement in the industry at this level.
I joined the board with a strong passion to be an enabler and advocate for grass roots sport, and to highlight the importance it plays in healthy and connected communities.
I feel I can honestly say that after being Chair for just over four years, our organisation has achieved some amazing things. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of two excellent CEO’s in Cheryl Battaerd and Darren Simpson. I thank them both for their loyalty, trust and support.
I can also advise that the Board today unanimously supported the appointment of Carolyn Campbell as Chairperson and Chris Hall as Deputy Chair. The Federation is most definitely in good hands.
Finally, I wanted to acknowledge and thank all Sport NSW Directors who I have worked with and particularly thank you, our members, for your ongoing support of Sport NSW.
Best Wishes
Joseph La Posta
