Sport NSW Industry Conference Wrap Up
Published Thu 27 Feb 2020
The Sport NSW Industry Conference was once again held at ACPE on Friday 21 February. The event was a great success with over 200 delegates joining us for a full day of education, personal development and networking.
The day began with a keynote address ‘Finding Something’ by Cameron Schwab and the audience was captured from the first word to the last. A truly inspiring and empowering presentation, Schwab’s authenticity and vulnerability had everyone in awe as they tried to take it all in.
Attendees were then provided with a choice of six breakout sessions, covering a range of topics in sport. Leading industry professionals and other subject-matter experts gave insightful presentations and panel discussions, where the delegates were able to engage in thought-provoking discussions which left them with new, exciting ideas to take ideas back to their own organisations.
Following lunch, delegates were treated to another keynote presentation, ‘Learnings from Folau’ by Joydeep Hor. A fascinating and captivating presentation, the audience began to understand why the Folau case was so controversial and learnt about the key takeaways for sporting organisations and other employers in NSW.
Our sincere thanks to the event partner, the Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) for providing access to such a wonderful facility and for all their support in the lead up and execution of the event. Thanks also to the National Sports Convention who provided the door prize of one full registration to attend the 2020 Convention later this year and congratulations to Jessica Allison from Cumberland Council who won.
