Hear from the engaging and entertaining Lawrie McKinna, a former elite football player, Mayor of Gosford Council and current CEO of Newcastle Jets.
Guest Speaker - Lawrie McKinna A Scottish-Australian former football player, McKinna moved to Australia in 1986, playing in the National Soccer League (NSL), the predecessor of the A-League. Beginning his coaching career in the early 90's, he was awarded NSL Coach of the Year in 2002, as manager of the Northern Spirit. He went on to earn the inaugural A-League Coach of the Year in 2005 managing the Central Coast Mariners in their first year. Most recently, as CEO of Newcastle Jets, he has taken the Jets from three wooden spoons to second place - with a confirmed spot in this year's final series.
