Timeout Talks Wrap Up

Published Fri 25 Sep 2020

With Timeout being over for Sport in NSW, it is fitting that we bring an end to the Timeout Talks - #unitedforsports webinar series. Over the last 10 weeks, an incredible 16 episodes have been delivered in the Timeout Talks series, covering a wide range of topics that connected with all levels of our sporting community.

A collaboration between Sport NSW, The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) and the Office of Sport, Timeout Talks were designed to engage, support and unite the broader NSW sporting community during the pandemic.

The series has definitely delivered and the engagement was wide and varied, reaching beyond NSW to include several different countries and international sporting organisations.

The series was viewed by over 2,000 people and included 16 hours of candid and insighful conversation from more than 50 industry leaders and experts across both NSW and Australia.

Some highlights from the series include

  • 350+ registrations for Timeout Talk #1 - Inside Leadership in Sport and multiple talks with 200+ registrations
  • 58 unique and varied presenters sharing their knowledge and insights
  • Development of an online database of the Timeout Talks for future reference
  • Wide range of attendees from CEO to Government, administrator to club volunteer, coach to high performance manager

One of the silver linings to this pandemic has been the collaboration and togetherness displayed by our sporting community. This was highlighted during the Timeout Talks webinar series through the willingness of so many of our industry leaders to volunteer their time for the betterment of sport and physical activity.

Sport NSW, ACPE and the Office of Sport would like to sincerely thank all who generously donated their time as panellists and facilitators during the series. The strength of our broader sporting community has been highlighted by your generosity and willingness to share and collaborate with peers and community.

All 16 Timeout Talks have been recorded and added to our Timeout Talks resource libraries. We encourage our sporting community to access these resources and share them with your own networks in time.
