Don't touch that snooze button - Winter running is a great time to develop your mental toughness!
There are plenty of great running events around NSW to keep your fitness goals on track, despite the cooler weather - we've named just a few below:
THE WARATAH SERIES SHORT COURSE - DAPTO - Sunday 8th July 2018 - Integral Energy Park, Dapto
The 2018 Waratah Series Short Course is an amalgamation of the Athletics NSW Short Course Cross Country Championships and the Little Athletics NSW Cross Country Championships. and includes a Greater Bank Fun Run in either 1k, 2k or 4k that is open for everyone!
Entries for the Greater Bank Fun 5 event will be open on line until 7th July, but you will also be able to enter on the day.
On top of this, the event will play host to on the day activations, food and drink stalls, captivating race callers as well as entertaining music.
THE GEORGES RIVER FESTIVAL OF THE FEET - GEORGES HALL - Sunday 15th July - Lake Gillawarna, Georges Hall
The Georges River Festival of the Feet is a fun day of running that offers something for everyone.
This event will have several distance options: 3km, 7km, 14 km, 21.1km. Online registrations close at 3pm Saturday 14 July, 2018 - registrations will be available on the day if there is still capacity, however some events are likely to sell out.
All the courses are off road, within the beautiful riverside area of Mirambeena Regional Park alongside Henry Lawson Drive at Georges Hall near Bankstown.
SYDNEY HARBOUR 10K & 5K - Sunday 29th July - The Rocks, Sydney
Whether you are an elite athlete, club runner, gym member, or simply someone who enjoys a social walk or jog, the Sydney Harbour 10K & 5K is the perfect event to test yourself before the winter and spring major classic events or simply complete your first fun run.
Online entries close on Saturday 28 July - or you can register in person on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July at the event registration centre, located at the marquee adjacent to the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay. Race day entries will be available at additional cost unless the event has sold out.
Starting at the historic Sydney Rocks area, the courses hug the harbour foreshore to ensure spectacular views throughout.

CITY2SURF - SYDNEY - Sunday 12th August 2018 - Hyde Park, Sydney
Ever wanted to tackle Heartbreak Hill? The City2Surf is a 14km run starting from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD, and finishing at Bondi Beach
Enter before July 24 to save $10 - Run for your own goals, or get your group together, dress up and raise money for charity!
