Dear [[NAME]],

COVID-19 Update

Following the letter dated 14 August 2020 from the NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, further advice has been provided to support the sport and recreation sector interpret and apply the recommendations.

The updated advice addresses differing requirements for several sports 'groups' in the Sydney metropolitan area as well as for regional NSW:

  1. Sport at a 'regular' club level (i.e. the majority of community sports competitions) including metropolitan and regional NSW (page 1);
  2. Sport using limited or specialised facilities (page 2);
  3. Sport for professionals and semi-professionals (page 2);
  4. Sport for pre-elite (non-professionals) using premium facilities (page 3); and,
  5. Sport for people with a disability (page 3).

Please note that it remains essential that all community sports organisations have a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place, and are fully compliant with their Plan.

2020 National Sports Census
  2020 National Sports Census

Sport NSW, in partnership with the Australian Sports Professionals Association, have released the 2020 National Sports Census. If you work in Australian sport as a professional staff member, volunteer, employee, board member, or work in some capacity for a related government agency, business or other endeavour - your voice matters.

Whether you're a first year sports graduate or long term industry veteran, we would appreciate your response. It does not matter what your role is, we want to hear from you!

This census will help us understand the national perspective of the Australian Sports Industry, and will empower everyone in sport by giving them the opportunity to have their voice heard and perspective acknowledged. The results are anonymous and the aggregated information will be made available to all ASPA members and participants to help drive discussions and planning in a post COVID-19 world.

Please click here to complete the census.

Sport NSW and ACPE Moving Forward Together
  Sport NSW and ACPE Moving Forward Together

Sport NSW and The Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) have renewed their partnership for another three years. Since commencing the partnership in 2016, Sport NSW and ACPE have worked collaboratively and strategically to deliver programs and projects for both the wider sporting community and students and alumni of ACPE. With the relationship taking on new highs each year, committing to a further three years was the logical decision to make for each organisation.

The partnership renewal will continue to open up and deliver a high-level knowledge exchange between the sports industry and ACPE, with ACPE playing an active role in contributing to the sporting community. This has been highlighted in recent years by a wide range of professional development opportunities offered to Sport NSW members, ACPE students gaining industry experience with some of the leading minds in sport and, more recently, through the Timeout Talks #unitedforsport webinar series. Sport NSW and ACPE are committed to working together to provide further development opportunities and to support to the sporting community through the COVID-19 pandemic.
